Earth Day 2023
Although we have long collected paper products at our school for recycling, Abbott Memorial School will now commit to collect plastics and metals for recycling as well from now on!
In addition, we pose this Community Clean-Up Challenge to all our families:
Earth Day is Saturday, April 22nd. We are challenging families to take a walk along their street or road and pick up litter in honor of Earth Day! You may use your own garbage bags, or we will have bags and gloves available at the Town Library from 2-6 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week for your family to use as you clean up the sides of your street. Our Road Supervisor James White has offered the Florida Highway Department to pick up all bags or items that you leave on the side of the road. (Not personal garbage…just the bags of stuff you pick up along the sides of your road.) All families that participate and share photos of your clean-up efforts with me by Monday, April 24 will have their name added to a drawing for an area restaurant gift card (Please email me at mmcevoy@abbottmemorial.org. Also, tell us where Jim can pick up your bags). Winner will be drawn at the May 8 School Committee meeting. Help keep our communities clean! (We would also like our out-of-district students to participate in their towns…unfortunately, you will need to arrange trash pick-up with your own towns…sorry!)

🌷Spring Concert 2023!! 🌼The attached sign-up sheet will be going home with your children. Students of all ages are encouraged to try out. Everyone is welcome to attend both concerts! !🎼🎸🎹
